I know this is very stereotypical to say - but when on earth did it become May already?!? I feel like it was January like five minutes ago and now I'm preparing to switch out my winter wardrobe for the spring and summer stuff. I guess that's what happens when you're busy working and planning for your wedding! 😆
I'm notorious for being low key on the weekends (read: fairly boring and my favorite thing to do on Friday nights is take a nap on the couch at 7:30 P.M.) because I'm usually pooped from a long week of waking up early to get to the gym, working for 8 hours, making dinner and then doing it all over again for 5 days straight. Thankfully, I've been able to use some PTO for events that I wanted to go to/will be going to.
On Wednesday April 26th I was invited to attend the WOMMA Summit (WOMMA stands for Word of Mouth Marketing Association) in NYC on behalf of Collective Bias - the lovely network I get a lot of my sponsored post opportunities through. It was awesome to meet up with a few local blogger gals for the first time too. I'd like to attend more in-person events in the future!
Yesterday, for Cinco de Mayo, we met up with our venue coordinator to choose some menu options for our wedding. It's less than 6 months away (!!) and I still have some things to do to prepare, but overall I'd say that it's been relatively low-stress. Things that have been stressing us out:
- What song to have as our first dance song
- Where to go on our honeymoon
- What kind of shoes I should wear. Any suggestions??
For Memorial Day weekend, I may be am going on a trip to Maine as a double date trip with my fiance and his best man and his girlfriend. I've never been to Maine, but I do like road trips and it seems like a fine place to be for the last week in May. If any of you live in/have visited Maine (near Portland) are there any recommendations you have? Food or otherwise.
To really shake things up in the next few weeks, I have a press trip to attend the weekend of June 2nd in Washington, D.C. for 3 days. I haven't been to D.C. in 5 years and I'm looking forward to the events and restaurants we'll be going to. I'm also really excited for the rooftop pool at the Embassy Row Hotel! I'm not sure I'm ready for all of this traveling - I have to stock up on travel sized goodies for my travel bag!
How's it been going in your area? What are you doing for Mother's Day? 🌸
