The Beginning
As of April 1st I officially started a workout plan dubbed the Bikini Bootcamp challenge, which is a plan I purchased back in November on Cyber Monday from the lovely ladies of Super Sister Fitness. I followed part 1 of the plan during the dead of winter and was pleased with the muscle tone I achieved. This time around, I'd like to pair the regimented workout with better eating habits to hopefully lose some of the extra jiggle the winter always leaves me with. I'd also like to continue with the plan and move on to part 2 of the Bikini Bootcamp series. May 13 will mark the end of 6 weeks, so here's to a great 6 weeks of finding the healthiest version of myself!
I'll be checking in once a week, (hopefully) with photos to attest to the benefits of eating well and exercising enough. Ideally, I'd also like to share a day-to-day look at what healthy meals look like and how I'm faring with each workout. This will:
- ensure I post here at least once a week
- keep me accountable. When I know people are expecting me to do well, I tend to actually do well. I'll own up to my slip-ups and let you all know when I eat cookies 🙂
I've lifted weights before in the past, and have a fair knowledge of exercise moves. Having completed this 6 week plan once before gives me a leg up on knowing what to expect. I'm hoping that better eating habits this time around will accelerate fat loss! After reading Bob Harper's The Skinny Rules: The Simple, Nonnegotiable Principles for Getting to Thin, I feel like I have a better grasp at healthy eating. I would definitely recommend that book if you find yourself having trouble in the food department while trying to diet.
Interested in working out more? Check out Super Sister Fitness on Youtube for free workout videos - these ladies are certified personal trainers and always have the best workout clothes. I was a big fan of their free videos before I committed to buying the Bikini Bootcamp plan, but I do think that the programs are worth the investment. I keep the PDF ebook on my iPad and can reference the different exercises wherever I go - at home, the gym, or on the go. I splurged and bought a set of 15 lb weights because I found myself not being challenged with lighter weights. Here's to an excellent 6 weeks!
