    Sit and Chat Saturday 6

Happy Saturday again, friends. As much as I'd like to turn away from all the terrible things that are happening in the world, I know it's important to pay attention and be compassionate. I've always been an optimist and I believe there is still good in this world. It's just not being as present as all of the hate that the media spews. I hope that one day this isn't the norm.

Saturdays are usually my most productive day of the week. Except this Saturday where I slept an actual 10 hours. I usually don't clock much more than 6.5 per night so this was HUGE for me.

As the Disney World trip gets closer, I keep thinking about how unprepared I am and how many things I need to buy/pack. Disney was a lot less stressful as a child and in high school. We're staying at Saratoga Springs. Any must sees or dos in Disney World? I've been a handful of times before but I'm always up for suggestions. I might have to have my first turkey leg.

Does anyone else ever feel so overwhelmed by their to do list that they lay down and take a nap instead? Please tell me it isn't just me.

Other bloggers/super productive people: how do you get ALL the things done? Share your secrets!! I need them 😩

What's on your menu this week? I hope you have all the ice cream and grilled goodies. Until next time, friends!! 💕

Awww, Jess, this so hits home for me. I have been so bogged down with what's going on in the news... And as far as To-Do overwhelmness: At times I know I've worked myself to crazy level (ok, not just myself but maybe I've brought my hubby and kids into my circus) and then at times I do want to nap for the weekend. I think it's ultimately your body and mind just needing it and it's ok. Yeah and we haven't even attempted Disney so you're doing great, friend!
      Have a great week!

Thanks, Carlen! Disney is so fun and great but it's also exhausting trying to see all of the things we want to see in a week. I can only imagine how insane this would be with kids. A weekend nap sounds fabulous right about now and I'm glad I'm not the only one. Have a lovely week as well!

Am I overwhelmed? Heck yeah. The world is a crazy place to be, work is always piling up, my kids are everywhere and need lots of attention...so yeah. I'm with you. Hope this weekend you can catch a break!

I slept for 10 hours on Saturday...one could say it was a very relaxing weekend for once. That happens about once every 3 months though so I know I won't sleep like that again for awhile. I hope your week has been moving along smoothly too, Mir! You're superwoman!

Oh my gawsh, the media absolutely terrifies me! I kid you not, I try to only watch the news for a few minutes each day, because I just can't. I'm a cancer so I'm super sensitive and all the bad things going on affect my day. I'd rather be ignorant in somethings, as terrible as that sounds!! Anyways, I hope you have fun at Disney!! I'm from Orlando, and I use to work at Disney, so I've been so many times I can't even think of anything cool to tell you to do. lol. I'm sure everything ya'll end up doing there will be a blast! As far as to-do lists - ick so overwhelming! I don't have any tips other than I just start at the most important thing and try to knock them out quick and painlessly. I'm not any help today, huh?! 🙁 Sorry!!!! Cheers, dear - to a fun vacay!!

Thanks so much, Cheyanne! The trip is less than a week away and I am SO EXCITED! I think I'm just really ready to eat all of the goodies there...typical foodie behavior. I hope you're having a great week!

I actually give myself time to take an "off day" sometimes and just remember there's a new day tomorrow. That's what I figured out works best for me 🙂

That's an excellent idea. I feel like I'm always going going going and hardly ever get anything done. It's frustrating, but I know things will all work out. Have a great weekend, Thea!

I am totally with you -- I know there is good in this world! The media chooses to focus just on the evil. That's so exciting about your trip! You will have so much fun. Great post!

Thank you! I'm so excited to go! It'll be my first vacation longer than 3 days in about 4 years...much too long! Have a great weekend!

I hear ya about the media spewing terror. I say this as I just watched the latest from France, and I have no words to describe it anymore. We just have to hope that we return back to the compassion that you mentioned. As far as Disney, I'm super jealous! I haven't been in years, but I suspect we'll be going one day with the little man. And being organized? I like to think I'm organized...perhaps too organized. I keep a calendar of posts/ideas, and then each Friday I lay out my tasks for what I want to accomplish each day the next week. If I happen to finish early one day, then I give myself the rest of the day off. (But with that said, I really challenge myself so I rarely finish early.) That's just me. Either way, hang in there and have fun at Disney, Jessica! 🙂

Lol, I feel like all my organization has just gotten so organized that it actually overwhelms me with the amount of stuff I need to get done. I don't get the panicky nightmares that jolt me from my sleep, but I'm sure those will come with time haha. I was at a chocolate and wine pairing class last night during the media coverage of France and we were all so heartbroken. It's going to take a lot to restore the goodness in this world but I'm really hopeful it'll happen soon so we (and our kids/future kids) can enjoy life again.

That rhododendron is beautiful! I have a pink one. I honestly don't think there is enough time in the run of a day to get things done, but I guess it's a good way to keep me on my toes 😀 Haven't been to Disney World in so long. I'm sure you will have an awesome time. Lots to see and do...and I'm sure lots of goodies to eat ('cause that's super important 😉 ). Have fun!

I am the worst at plants, so thank you for identifying it for me! I'm ashamed I didn't know what it was (other than pretty, lol)! I can't wait to eat all the things in Disney and then promptly return to having just smoothies for a week straight. Thanks for popping by, Dawn!
