Ingredients
  • 2 pounds beef short ribs
  • 2 Tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 medium sized onion peeled and diced small
  • 2 carrots peeled and diced small
  • 1 stalk celery diced small
  • 2 tsp minced garlic
  • 1 cup dry red wine
  • 1 24 ounce jar Prego Farmers' Market® Classic Marinara sauce
  • ½ cup water
  • 1 pound tagliatelle pasta
  • grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
  1. In a heavy skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat and sear the ribs until brown on all sides.
  2. Place the ribs in your slow cooker.
  3. Add the onions, carrots and celery to the skillet and cook for 3 to 4 minutes or until they become browned.
  4. Add the garlic, and cook until fragrant.
  5. Add the red wine to the skillet, and cook for 3 to 4 minutes.
  6. Pour the wine and vegetable mix over the ribs, then add Prego Farmers' Market® Classic Marinara sauce. Stir until ribs and vegetables are covered in sauce.
  7. Turn your slow cooker on low for 6 hours. (If the sauce begins to thicken too much, add a little more water).
  8. After 6 hours, shred the short rib meat and discard the bones.
  9. Cook the pasta according to the package.
  10. Add a hearty scoop of sauce to the pasta and mix.
  11. Serve the pasta in individual bowls topped with more sauce and shredded parmesan cheese.
